ZILA SAINIK BOARD, Kurukshetra came into existence in November 1974 on the formation of new District Zila Sainik board is an important link between the Armed forces and civil administration and is responsible for implementation of various welfare schemes of the state and central Government.

FUNCTIONS OF THE BOARD

a) Rehabilition of ex servicemen and their families and dependent in civil life.

(b) To sort out the pension problems of ex servicemen / their families by liaison with Record Offices, CDA/DODO and other Army authorities.

(c) To help find a suitable job for ex servicemen and their dependents.

d)To help the needy and poor ex servgicemen with financial assistance from Army/civil sources.

(e) To implement the various schemes of Statw and central Govt. for rehabilitation/self employment /training etc for the welfare of ex servicemen and their dependents.

(f) To look after welfare of serving soldiers and their families.

 Haryana Governmentt pays the cash award, monetary grant in shape of land and annuity to the award winners.

EMPLOYMENT

The Haryana Govt. for assisting opens a special cell in ZSB ex servicemen in getting re- employed. The ESM cell registers the name of ESM/dependents for re employment purpose and sponsors to various agencies of Govt. and private undertaking on receipt of demand.

LOANS TO EX SERVICEMEN

EX servicemen are granted loans under various schemes of Central/State Govt on liberal terms for their resettlement.

SAINIK REST HOUSE

A modern type of Saqinik Rest House has been constructed at this station out of amalgamated fund for the welfare of ESM. This rest house has two officers suite and one dormitory hall having l0 beds in it for other ranks of defence services. The rest house is well furnished and all items like furniture , bed etc are available in the rest house.
