The distribution of power in district Kurukshetra is looked after by the Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam. The district gets its power form 440 KV Sub-Station at Panipat and Jagadhari through Bhakhra Beas Management Board for which a network of sub-station and transmission have been established.

 

Sub-Stations

 

There are 2 no. 220KV S/Stn. , 5 no. 132KV S/Stn., 5 no. 66KV S/Stn. and 12 no. 33KV Sub-Stations in Kurukshetra District. The proposed new S/Stn. and where augmentation is to be carried during the year 2000-2001 are as under.

i) New Sub-Stations

ii Augmentation at the S/Stns.

HT/LT Lines

At present 3987 Kms. of 11KV lines are existing under Kurukshetra district and it is estimated that 150 KMs. HT lines will be added during this year. 7862 Kms. of LT lines are existing in Kuruksheta Distt. and 100 KMs LT lines are estimated to be added during this year.

 

1.    Release of tubewell connections under Tatkal Scheme

UHBVN has introduced a Tatkal Scheme wherein for cable connection applicant was required to deposit Rs. 10000/- and for single pole connection Rs. 20000/- 243 no. applicants have deposited for cable connections, out of which 242 connections have been released. Similarly 236 applicants have deposited for single pole connections, out of which 171 connections have been released.

 

2.    Remote Control Load Management Scheme

RCLM Scheme is being implemented on 2no. 11KV feeders i.e. 11KV Dhola Majra Feeder and 11KV Kishangarh Feeder at 220KV S/Stn. Shahabad. Work of hte scheme of 11KV Dholamajra Feeder has been completed whereas work on the 11KV Kishangarh feeder is under process. After the commissioning of the scheme, the load on each T/F will be controlled from the S/Stn. This will facilitate the switching on and off of the distribution T/Fs from the 220KV S/Stn. itself. The various parameters of current, voltage and oil level of the T/F will also be seen on the screen of the computer at the S/Stn.

3.    Surcharge Waival Scheme

The Nigam has introduced surcharge waival scheme, according to which all the domestic as well as AP consumers in the Distt. have been authorised to remit their bills without paying the surcharge upto 30-11-2000. This will facilitate in reducing the outstanding dues of the Nigams.
